Let Go And Let Be

TREES

By Leslie Caplan

Your life
breathes and sways
like the trees
on a cashmere-gray day
Holding breath only to release
the gust of angst
that belongs
not inside of you
not beside you
but in the ethers
where it can alchemize
into starlight

Radiant, you are
A sliver of moon opalescent
against a blue-black sky
whose only purpose it to rise
when the sun melts
into horizon

Ocean waters to and fro
lapping against your river-wide willingness
to let go
let go
and let be
the very human emerging
from the heart of you

Your life loves you
and so do I
