5 Signs The Earth Is Singing Through You

By Laura Larriva

For you healers, teachers, caretakers, coaches — for you corporate leaders, global front liners, sacred activists, mothers, sisters and those who seek to deepen their service in the world; what if the way you stand here, matters?

I’m speaking to the part of you that knows in the marrow of your bones that the gift you carry — the one that terrifies you, and makes your blood run hot, is an upwelling of a larger dream — the dream of the earth, working through you, as you.

In rhythm.

And that the quality of your attention to the song singing you over the threshold of gigantic, unstoppable life is as birthright to you as your first howling breath — your first soul cry to Gaia, announcing your arrival and the gift you bring.

What if I reminded you, dear sister, that our work in leadership is less about efforting, controlling, or manipulating some unknown and hostile future, but rather to surrender into intimacy with the holy mess, the ebb and flow, and the deep intelligence of the here and now?

What if I reminded you of the lies we have been told of separation, competition, hierarchy, and scarcity that disregard our hidden partnerships, our carefully woven threads, our intelligent design, our great empathic hearts?

How does it make you feel to hear me say you are one we’ve been waiting for, and you’re not designed to do it alone?

Yes, I am stoking that fire. The one that remembers.

Secret agents, co-conspirators, magic-makers, I call you forward NOW to make your life a feast.

Here are five signs the voice of the earth moves through you. Will you take heed?

1. You have been exiled.

At one point or another, the way you stand in the world has marginalised you. Cast you out from the status quo, the village of contractual reality.

You do things differently. You make waves — even when you don’t want to. You have suffered because of this, and yet… somehow, you also have come alive.

You lead from the periphery, from the forest, where the wild things are. You do this sometimes overtly, and sometimes as a secret agent — an envoy of the earth in the boardroom, dreaming of another way — a better way.

A way of (is there another word?), love.

2. You believe in magic.

You have seen it at work in your life — even though you may not be able to explain it. You get, with your whole body, that Mystery envelops everything.

That there are dimensions to your life that remain hidden – yet more powerful than anything tangible.

You long to get closer to the hands that guide you. You have conversations with trees — or you secretly long to. You get lost in the moon.

Galaxies burn from your eyes.

3. You feel deeply.

Despite the consequences for doing so. People may have called you empathic, or overly emotional — or totally, wildly irrational. You feel things that you suspect are not just your own, and you choose to feel them anyway.

Grief, rage, passion…t hese are familiar currents that have shaped and molded your life — not without difficulty. You feel especially full when you open your eyes to what’s happening on the planet. To the oceans and waterways, the migratory birds, the hooting of the owl outside your window.

And you wonder… will it break me to love the world this much?

4. You question everything.

From a place of wholeness. And you live into the questions for the hidden gateways they are.

5.You have made a vow.

Out loud, or in silence, to leave this earth a better place for the future ones. To live fully, and unapologetically, and in mind of the whole. You are curious about patterns that help you get closer to the ways of the earth — her cycles, her seasons, her ways of generative love… you apprentice to her harmony and true beauty. You look to her as your primary teacher.

And one of you, perhaps deep, deep down, knows yourself to be a part of a movement rising up on the planet right now, welcoming home what has been lost for our people. Leading from the future as it emerges.

I know you know you’re needed here. And yet I see you now, reading this, and the way your body trembles with fear — come undone with anticipation at the thought of offering your gift, the one only you can hold.

I know, that you know, in the embodiment of that power, you will be changed, just as surely as you will change the world. On the winds of fall, I hear the faintest tremor of a voice.

The Muse is speaking to you.

She whispers in your ear…remember, dear heart. Remember…
