{LISTEN} Those Who Dance Will Always Be Insane To Those Who Can’t Hear The Music

“And those who were seen dancing
were thought to be insane
by those who could not hear the music.”
Friedrich Nietzsche

{Via TEDx Talks} Hibbert begins her talk with the question: What is sound? Perhaps it is not just what we hear, but what we feel. And sight? Not just what we see, but what we come to see. She explains to the audience that the song she is about to perform was inspired in part by the words of Nietzsche, who wrote about people seen dancing being thought insane by those who could not hear the music. She then begins her beautiful, not slow but haunting, performance.

Nicole Hibbert is an innovative R&B/soul musical performer capable of making her own clothes to go with her own sound. She earned her Bachelors in Textiles from Delaware State University before turning full-time to music. She is, most recently, Miss Black America, receiving the crown shortly before TEDx Wilmington!
