Butterfly Transposed
Can a butterfly be born without a cocoon?
Pain was her house
Shifting
Sifting
Through louse
After louse
No home
From which to be birthed
Evolving
From the inside out
Shedding one rumpled layer
After the next
Unknowingly
Evolving
To her highest
Expression
To fly
Soar
Savor the sweet nectar
Does she still need the cocoon?
Can she bloom
Without the safety
Warmth
Security
Live without the struggle
Of emerging
From her nest
I say yes
Hell yes
Stand in awe as
She flaps her beautiful
Wings of self
Expression
Without need of validation
Or applause
Her flight
Is the peak
That leaves one
Speechless
