As Tears Flood My Eyes & Echoes Of Fear Hang From My Heart

cry

BY BRIGID HOPKINS

As tears flood my eyes
Dance down my face
Its no surprise why they’re here
The echoes of fear
Hanging from my heart
Pulling back another layer
Goodbye
Shame
Regret
Humility
Abandonment
Places I hide
Squandering my brilliance
My inheritance
To be all of me
Not to be foxholed by mistakes
Blundered
Moments of confusion
Leading to self abuse
Harsh voices
Hiding
Damming
Pushing away
Anything that gets to close
To my illusion
Of being unworthy
Unsavory
Loly
I’m fatigued
From denying
My divinity
My shine
My nobility
That’s right
Nobility
I dry my eyes
Adjust my belt
Dive back in the rhythm of life
Flow in the knowing
Of where I’m going
Not from a voice of confusion
A choice
My choice
To live a life of transcendence
Not obedience
