What Lies Beneath The Layers Of Magic

My magic is layered, sedimentary. Topographic
It pulls from tongues and wills them to speak their truths
Resting in my lap
Tiny moments
Tiny little memories

My magic calls in dreams
Calls the broken pieces together
Reverse siren
She calls them ashore to heal them
Lined up like paper dolls
Like Teflon chains of dolls
Slide. Right. Off.

My magic has origins in Celtic hills
And small streams hidden in the woods,
In the blankets of moss made on a bed of stone.
Came calling for me as a child
Leaves shadows of youth and a glimpse of future
Little breadcrumbs along the way

My magic is cellular
Involuntary self-sufficient machine

The magic that is visible in his wide eyes
His pure eyes
His eyes that absorb everything

My magic is love
Is alive
Is a life

My magic sprouts in darkness
In the still
In the moment, no one sees

My magic is a muse of heart, fire and ash
Of cedar and sandalwood
Skeletons of fern beds
Venus hanging low in the winter sky

She dances the line between worlds
Creating sentences and fragments by hand

My magic aims to liberate
Breakers of real or conceptual boundaries and borders
Breaker of metaphorical and societal chains

My magic is a naked echo
Stripped voice right before you
No conjured adjectives
A gift
A labyrinth
A universal love letter
When illuminated in the correct light
